Mike Looney has written a new book that deals with not only the 1969 Big Shootout but also the political and social turmoil that year.

The untold story of the big shootout evolved from 36 hours of interviews while filming the big shootout documentary-also evolving from never before heard stories told by the 41 cast members while the cameras were turned off.
Texas and Arkansas met on December the sixth 1969 in the hundredth anniversary of college football,-the first national championship game arranged for TV and the last championship game played by all white participants. With the largest viewing audience ever for a football game and what seemed like the entire federal government sitting in the stands, the game drew racial and Vietnam protests that ABC refused to acknowledge.
Readers of the untold story will learn the shocking reason President Nixon refused to destroy the Watergate tapes, even when advised to do so by his top advisers. Or learn of the first accurate accounting of young Bill Clinton’s draft skirmish.
