Que 5/20/2019 Volume IV newsletter

Welcome to the Texas Longhorn sports historical website. The site converts UT history, UT traditions, UT legacies, UT culture, individual records, photos, insightful comments, and personal commentary from former athletes, trainers, managers, coaches, and their families  into a form that all Longhorns can celebrate.

2) On May 15, 2019 Jimmy Gunn, Billy Dale, Jimmy Nixon, Pat Frost, Lukin Gilliland, and Dick Tips met with Chris Del Conte and Chris Plonsky to discuss the logistics and the funding process of the three remaining bust of the 4 Longhorn National Championship quarterbacks. I have heard through the grapevine that one individual may pay for the other 3 statues so I will wait until my next newsletter to discuss this subject.

3) On March 22, 1998, Tyres Dickson a former Longhorn student athlete and a friend were hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light and t-boned their car sending it into oncoming traffic and more impacts.

Tyres says “I woke up in the hospital three weeks later to find that my career was over and that I was paralyzed”. For 20 years Tyres has been in and out of hospitals due to complications from the car wreck, and he has lived on his own and supported himself, but now he needs some temporary financial help. Please read his story in the que.

Blessings to All,

Billy Dale
