TLSN’s Mission Statement The Texas Legacy Support Network (TLSN), Inc., is a 501(c)(3) Texas nonprofit corporation dedicated to preserving the rich history of Longhorn sports and supporting former Longhorn student-athletes who have fallen through societal safety nets. TLSN’s mission is to provide financial assistance and other charitable support to individuals who have suffered health-related or severe financial hardship through no fault of their own. These include:
Former student-athletes who participated in intercollegiate sports governed by the AIAW and NCAA at the University of Texas at Austin.
Former coaches, trainers, equipment managers, and managers associated with these student-athletes.
Family members of the individuals described above.
TLSN also works to promote public awareness and appreciation of the invaluable contributions these individuals made to the Longhorn legacy. Through text, photos, podcasts, articles, and interviews, TLSN celebrates the achievements of Longhorn teams and individuals, ensuring their stories are preserved and honored for future generations. Enjoy hundreds of T-ring reflection stories chronicled on our website, told through the eyes of former Longhorn brand builders.
In addition to its educational efforts, TLSN provides financial grants ranging from $2,000 to $45,000, made possible through the generosity of donors. Donations allow TLSN to fulfill its commitment to preserving history and supporting those in need.
The TLSN Board of Directors, who receive no compensation for their service, oversees this mission. Your support helps us continue to honor the Longhorn legacy and assist those who need help the most.
