FROM JAMES LANE’S BROTHER CHRIS

Hi everyone. Of course, you have heard of the passing of my brother James Lane Jr. This has been a very difficult experience dealing with his sudden death. In the meantime, because he lived out of state, I am having a hard time finding out where he worked for insurance purposes. I am having a hard time getting his body back to Texas because he died in Vegas instead of where he lived in Arizona. I am the only next of kin as our father is deceased and our mother has been in the nursing home for the past 7 years with Alzheimer’s. I am most likely have to deal with legal fees which will exceed the amount of funeral expenses. Honestly, I have a hard time asking anyone for anything. Please help if you can and may God bless you all. Chris Lane

James Lane

Below comments are dated 2/08/2022

Todd Hunt and Duane Whetston are the sponsors of a drive to help a teammate who recently passed away. Last night I talked to Duane Whetstone and according to Duane, James’ body is still in Las Vegas, and he does not know when it will be released. Unfortunately, Lane’s family does not have the money to bury him, so Todd and Duane are reaching out to the Longhorn Nation for help.

“Night train was a great competitor. I had the fortune to battle against him in the trenches every day. And even though we had to run a few laps from time to time after a few swings at each other he always greeted me with the biggest of smiles in the locker room. He was as good a teammate you could have. RIP James.” ADL65
