Life is unfair at times, and we’re left asking, WHY?•
Jason Reeves, J Reeves, BIG CAT, & the silent assassin prankster… Everybody loved him!•
My brother, my best friend, and my best man.. Life moves quickly, and it ends abruptly.
The times we had, we lived it!
Our families adopted each other. Since our days at Pillow Elementary, where it all started, to junior high, where we became inseparable and sat next to each other in the locker room in high school, The stories are priceless, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Just 4 days after your soul mate left us, God decided it was time for you. I now see your purpose on earth was achieved, and your faith and living it was inspiring.
We weren’t ready for this, and we had plenty of laughs and moments to share along with those weird sayings & quotes, “WOMP,” “NYNM,” “Is it dark yet, no it’s red,” “You played well in Lub-Bock, we’d like to rewit (recruit) you,” & “let’s go to Hot Shots.”
Our tribe of friends were blessed with you in it as well as your Longhorn family.
Oh, those pranks were endless: chicken bone marrow and grease in a ziplock bag placed on Jason Hoelter’s desk. Braces wax on my windshield wipers. Dumbbell weights under pillows.
I can’t believe I’m writing this; surely this is a bad dream we’ll all wake up from.
With an extremely heavy heart and tears in my eyes, I don’t want to say goodbye to you.!
I’ll do my best to love and be a positive influence on both Kyra and Jaylon in any way possible.
I promise you when the boys get together; we will always have a ton of laughs from those stories involving you. You left quite a legacy!
I love you, my brother.
Thank you for a lifetime of amazing memories and laughs!! I’ll miss you, and we will all miss you!
Rest Easy, J!!

A heartbreaking day with the passing of our great Letterman Jason Reeves. Was young in my career here, but Jason was a joy to watch and to work with. My thoughts & prayers are with you @CoachJ_Boulware as well as his family, friends, teammates & everyone impacted by this tragic loss.
It’s with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I celebrate the life of my friend, Best Man, and ex teammate. I can’t say it enough that life is too short. JReeves was my road dawg since I stepped foot on campus in Austin. We did all the things that college boys do together. I miss you and love with all my heart
My sincerest condolences. As I said before, Jason and I used to play pickup basketball games at Balcones Woods court all the time. In my head I see him as that young one, growing into his frame and talent. May his memory be a blessing for all who knew him.
My heart goes out to everyone and the family. Never stop living, tell your friends and family how you feel, or time is precious and valuable. I’m saddened yet take comfort that Jason and his wife were not separated for long and are together again in peace and love
Still trying to process this and not doing a very good job. I know God has a plan and, hopefully one day down the road, I will understand. Jason was one of a kind!
It’s been a tough week or so for all of us in Texas.
But, the past couple of days have been incredibly challenging to accept and process.
I lost a sister/friend who was the amazing wife of one my best friends & brother, Jason Reeves.
Chrisla Reeves passed away Friday morning. She and Jason were both hospitalized last week. Jason is fighting and improving each day and is in good hands.
If I can ask anything, please keep Jason in your prayers as well as both families.
Especially from the Anderson High School family and the Texas Longhorns football former players fraternity.
I’m biased, but Chrisla was an all-American mom to both Kyra and Jaylon. Her glow and pride shined from being the mom of those two characters.
I pray that the good Lord wraps himself around Kyra and Jaylon.
Chris’s infectious personality and energy were something special.
Services to honor Chris’s life are pending..

Rest In Peace Jason Reeves. A great guy to deal with when he was a star linebacker for the Longhorns more than 25 years ago. Click on video below.

Jason Reeves, a former University of Texas linebacker from the 1990s said he’s humored by the reported news.
“This is funny if true. OU is looking at a minimum of 150 yards in penalties. A fitting punishment for the disrespect. Time for OU to get their own hand sign,” Reeves said.

Prayers for the family of my former teammate Jason Reeves. We were in the same recruiting class at UT. He was a good man. He and his wife both lost thier battles with covid over the last several days. I can’t imagine the pain their children are dealing with. I know things are supposed to be getting better as far as infection goes but there are still many people out there dealing with this horrible virus. Pleas keep taking precautions to help stop the spread. If n
