From Todd Hunt -All, I received a couple of notes about Sergio Kindle and wanted to let everyone know your prayers and support are needed. Sergio was diagnosed with early-stage colon cancer last Monday. Fortunately, they caught it early so his chances of remission after the surgery are high. On that note, his medical bills are daunting and financial strain on his family is scary. One of his colleagues’ wives has set up a GoFundMe to help my family and Sergio during these trying times. If you can support in any way no matter how little please do, if you can. Thanks for your support!!!
Friends, family, Longhorn Nation, and football fans everywhere —
We’re rallying around Sergio Kindle, former All-American DE at the University of Texas and Baltimore Ravens player, who now serves as the Defensive Coordinator at Hillcrest High School in Dallas ISD.
Long before he took the national stage, Sergio was already a Dallas legend at Woodrow Wilson High School, under Coach Bobby Estes. A dominant force on both sides of the ball, he rushed for 5,627 yards and 86 touchdowns, earning all-state honors on offense and defense — the only Texas player to do so in 2005. He was a USA Today and PARADE All-American, and ranked the #1 inside linebacker in the nation.
Today, Sergio is facing a new battle, a diagnosis of colon cancer, requiring surgery and possible treatment. As he and his family confront this difficult chapter, we’re asking for the same support he’s given to countless players and communities over the years.
Please consider donating; no gift is too small, and sharing this message. If you can’t give, your prayers and positive thoughts are just as powerful.
