Howard Terry from Longhorn Football to a Longhorn and Foundation

Howard Terry, a lineman and linebacker from 1935 to 1937, founded the Texas Longhorn Education Foundation. In the photo below, he is #65, fifth from the left in the first row. A football scholarship enabled him to achieve his dream, inspiring him to establish a foundation to help other deserving individuals receive a first-class education and fulfill their own dreams, just as he did. .

The Terry Foundation, was founded by Howard and Nancy Terry in 1986 and is the largest private scholarship provider in Texas. Over 40 years, the Terry Foundation has contributed $100 million in scholarship money to 7000 with special talents, but not the resources to attend a tier one university for an education.
Howard was not only only a successful entrepeneur but for a short period he was a great football recruiter helping convince the Texas coaching staff to to offer Spec Sanders a scholarship to attend Texas.
